Data repository data are the study data provided for public use. The data repository data have been modified to protect participant privacy. The data books provided on the ARIC website represent the collected data, not the data modified for data repository use. Please refer to the Modified Data Dictionary for information on changes in selected variables in the data repository data.

    Data repository data are not provided on the ARIC website. The data distribution procedures for data repository have been established and are administered by the NHLBI. These procedures require modification or elimination of data to protect participant privacy, and require that the recipient of the data sign a data distribution agreement and obtain an IRB approval from their institution prior to receipt of the data.
